On 29 March 2012, in Berlin the NDPTL Steering Committee convened to discuss the NDPTL Support fund establishment, which is to be a financing instrument with a purpose of mobilising and channelling financing for implementation of the Northern Dimension Partnership for Transport and Logistics (NDPTL).
A key purpose of the fund is to facilitate and speed up the preparation of bankable projects. The fund will provide grant financing for the following:
• Institutional support;
• Project development and preparation;
• Project implementation.
The NDPTL primarily target cross border projects to make easier and safer travel for people and more efficient transportation of goods. The NDPTL projects will be prioritised in accordance with the NDPTL Regional network methodology.
The NDPTL is working to define the NDPTL Regional transport network and to identify and prioritize infrastructure and soft measures projects for development and implementation.
