February 18th 2013, the third Ministerial meeting of the Northern Dimension (ND) convened in Brussels. The meeting was hosted by the European Union and chaired by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice- President of the European Commission. The ministers of Foreign Affairs from all the ND partner countries – the Russian Federation, the European Union, Iceland and Norway – attended the meeting. Furthermore representatives of the Regional Councils, the International Financial Institutions and others involved in the ND cooperation did also participate in the meeting.
The Ministers underlined the key role of the ND – representing the equal partnership in fostering prosperity, sustainable development and well-being through regional cooperation and underlined the positive role that the ND policy can play in the EU-Russia agenda.
